China has opened a robot theme park in Zhuhai with 300+ robots and 100+ interactive AI experiences.

ZHUHAI: China has opened what is being described as the world’s first large-scale robot theme park, deploying more than 300 robots across the Hengqin Chimelong resort in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.

The project, located at Chimelong Spaceship Park, combines tourism, entertainment and artificial intelligence, with robots integrated into everyday visitor experiences rather than appearing only as exhibition displays.

More than 300 robots join daily operations

The park features more than 300 embodied AI robots, many supplied by Shanghai-based robotics company AgiBot.

They are being used across entertainment, science education, visitor guidance, hotel services and other customer-facing operations. Robots can welcome guests, provide directions, perform on stage and assist with activities throughout the attraction.

Visitors can also watch robots dance, write Chinese calligraphy, box and play table tennis. Some experiences allow guests to control robots directly or compete against them in interactive challenges.

More than 100 interactive experiences

According to reports, the attraction offers more than 100 robot-based experiences, making human-robot interaction a central part of the visit.

Chimelong Group Vice President Jiang Minling said the attraction is particularly aimed at technology enthusiasts, teenagers and parents, with the goal of encouraging curiosity about emerging technologies.

Real-world test for embodied AI

Beyond entertainment, the park also gives robotics companies an opportunity to test machines in crowded and unpredictable public environments.

AgiBot and Chimelong said the deployment includes multi-robot coordination, connectivity infrastructure and dedicated safety systems designed for large-scale everyday operations.

The opening also marked the delivery of AgiBot’s 20,000th robot, highlighting China’s rapid expansion in humanoid and embodied AI technology.

The attraction officially reopened following its AI-focused upgrade on September 24, 2026, positioning Zhuhai as a major showcase for how robots could increasingly become part of tourism, hospitality and public services.

Impact to expect

The park could accelerate the use of humanoid robots in tourism, hospitality and public services, while giving developers valuable real-world data on how people interact with AI-powered machines.
