Apple unveils its new Home Collection with LG and Schneider Electric, introducing smart cameras, door locks and thermostats with AI-powered features and enhanced privacy
CUPERTINO: Apple has announced its new Home Collection, expanding its smart home ecosystem with connected cameras, intelligent door locks, video doorbells and thermostats.
Developed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, the accessories integrate directly with Apple’s Home app, allowing users to control their homes without installing additional applications or creating separate accounts.
The new collection will begin arriving in December 2026, with selected products following in early 2027.
Apple introduces AI-powered home security cameras
The collection includes four LG cameras designed for indoor and outdoor monitoring.
The cameras support up to 2.5K video resolution and can recognise people, pets, vehicles and delivered packages.
Apple Intelligence can generate video summaries and allow users to search recordings using natural-language descriptions, subject to compatible devices and iCloud+ plans.
The indoor camera also introduces a privacy-focused feature that automatically lowers its view when household members return home.
Smart locks allow hands-free home access
Apple’s new LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband technology to recognise approaching users.
Compatible iPhones and Apple Watches can automatically unlock doors without requiring physical contact.
Users can also grant temporary access to visitors through the Home app.
The system supports PIN entry and traditional backup keys.
Smart thermostats automatically adjust home temperatures
LG and Schneider Electric have introduced smart thermostats that adjust heating and cooling according to household routines.
Apple’s Adaptive Temperature feature detects whether residents are home, sleeping or away and adjusts settings automatically.
Additional sensors monitor temperature and humidity across different rooms.
Apple Home Collection prices and availability
US prices start at $199.95 for indoor cameras and smart thermostats. The smart door lock starts at $349.95, while the video doorbell starts at $249.95.
