Role of AI in balancing decarbonisation with profitability discussed at meet

Sharjah: The Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTIP) recently hosted a Business Breakfast meet aimed at shedding light on the crucial topic of “Balancing Decarbonisation with Profitability: The Role of AI.” This event aimed to address the growing challenge of harmonizing environmental efforts with business profitability in today’s world. Attendees, including business leaders, technology enthusiasts, and experts from both public and private sectors, gathered to delve into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a pivotal role in aligning environmental goals with financial success.

Led by Giridhary Kutty, Regional Director of ETAP Automation and a seasoned expert in technology and sustainability, the discussions provided a platform for participants to exchange insights and explore the latest trends in green technology. This event exemplifies SRTIP’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement while facilitating meaningful dialogue on pressing environmental issues.

Discussions at the breakfast meet centered on the transformative potential of AI in achieving net zero emissions and how sustainability technologies can drive down costs and energy consumption. Attendees also delved into various technologies aimed at clean energy production, carbon capture, recycling, and efficiency enhancement, highlighting their role in achieving sustainability goals.

Furthermore, the session examined the application of AI techniques in data analysis to enhance equipment lifespan through predictive maintenance. Participants also discussed the evolution of UAE companies towards green technologies over the past decade, in line with UAE Vision 2050.

Hussein Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, emphasized the park’s commitment to sustainability and invited businessmen and investors to embrace environmentally friendly practices. He stressed the importance of aligning business growth with environmental stewardship and expressed full support for the nation’s roadmap towards net zero emissions by 2050.

A video presentation showcased SRTI Park’s sustainable journey and its success in supporting scientific and technological research, adhering to international standards. The Business Breakfast series is part of SRTIP’s initiatives to bolster Sharjah’s position as an investment hub and foster economic partnerships between the park and the business community.
