Abu Dhabi: Two additional designated lanes have been made available by the Abu Dhabi Police and ADNOC Distribution Company for the licensing testing of electric vehicles (EVs).

The ADNOC Vehicle Inspection Center in the Muroor neighborhood is home to one lane, while the Vehicle Inspection Center in Al Ain is located in Al Bateen.

Given the growing popularity of EVs in the emirate, the measure intends to give EV owners precedence in having their vehicles assessed through these specifically created lanes.

Authorities hope to encourage more citizens to convert to cleaner and more environmentally friendly modes of transportation by accelerating the licensing process for electric cars.

The Director of the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Directorate in the Central Operations Sector, Brigadier General Muhammad Al Buraik Al Amiri, stated his support for this ground-breaking effort.

“The opening of the two lanes comes as an unprecedented step aimed at achieving the desired and common goals between the two sides and reaching record levels of customer satisfaction within the government directions in implementing the national strategy for quality of life,” he stated.

He went on to say that the Abu Dhabi Police Drivers and cars Licensing Directorate is dedicated to provide top-notch services and raising the standard of technical inspection for light cars in collaboration with ADNOC Distribution.

This collaborative endeavor aims to improve overall consumer satisfaction while assisting the government’s strategic focus on community needs and quality of life.
