DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the ‘Takamul Permit’, a new initiative aimed at bridging the gap between Dubai’s luxury transport and car rental sectors. This move aligns with the city’s commitment to offering high-end services that enhance the experience of residents, visitors, and tourists while supporting a seamless and luxurious lifestyle.
Jamal Al Sadah, Director of Commercial Transport Activities at RTA’s Licensing Agency, explained that the permit enables limousine transport companies and car rental firms to collaborate, allowing temporary use of luxury vehicles with chauffeurs. He stated, “The service facilitates smooth coordination between luxury transport providers and car rental businesses, ensuring mutual benefits. With this permit, end-users—whether tourists, residents, or individuals—can hire a chauffeur-driven luxury car for up to one month, subject to specific regulations.”
The Takamul Permit aims to provide a structured and flexible regulatory framework to enhance Dubai’s car rental sector. RTA has updated regulations and digital systems to encompass all car rental activities under its jurisdiction, streamlining processes between rental companies and customers.
Al Sadah further noted that participating businesses must comply with strict operational guidelines, covering aspects such as vehicle hire, deluxe transport registration, and driver accreditation in the Transport Activities Rental System (TARS). These measures ensure compliance with Dubai’s high standards of luxury transport while fostering a well-regulated and competitive market.
The initiative is expected to improve service efficiency, boost economic opportunities, and enhance customer convenience, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in luxury mobility solutions.
