The new Mushrif National Park bridge makes it easier and safer for mountain bikers and hikers to explore Dubai’s largest forest.
DUBAI: Love cycling, hiking or spending time outdoors? Mushrif National Park has a new addition worth checking out. Dubai Municipality has opened a 102-metre bridge that gives mountain bikers and hikers a safer and smoother way to move through the park.
The Mushrif National Park bridge connects two parts of the mountain biking trail that were previously separated by a road. Before the bridge opened, cyclists had to stop their ride and cross a road used by cars before getting back onto the trail. Now they can simply continue across the bridge, making the whole experience easier and safer. The complete biking journey across the new connection covers 182 metres.

The bridge is not only for cyclists. It has two separate lanes, with one for mountain bikers and another just for hikers. This keeps walkers and cyclists apart and gives everyone more space to enjoy the route without getting in each other’s way.
Mushrif National Park is already a popular place for families, cyclists, hikers, fitness lovers and anyone looking for a bit of nature in Dubai. As the city’s largest forest, it offers a very different outdoor experience from Dubai’s beaches, malls and busy city areas. The new bridge adds another reason to explore it.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the bridge allows mountain bikers to continue their journey without stopping to cross a road. He said it provides a “safer, smoother and more enjoyable experience” through one of Dubai’s most distinctive natural areas.
The Mushrif National Park bridge has also been designed to fit in with the surrounding forest. Dubai Municipality said the project is about making the park easier to explore while keeping its natural feel.
The new addition comes as more people in Dubai are getting into outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking and nature walks. Better trails and safer connections make it easier for beginners as well as regular outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy these activities.
