The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi launched a pioneering AI-powered platform at COP30 to revolutionise environmental data analysis and decision-making.

ABU DHABI: The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has launched the world’s first AI-powered environment portal, the Abu Dhabi State of Environment Portal (ADSOEP), at COP30 in Brazil. The platform represents a global first in using artificial intelligence to automate environmental monitoring and reporting, setting a new benchmark for sustainability governance.

Unveiled during the landmark climate summit, ADSOEP leverages advanced AI models and predictive analytics to process environmental data in real time. The system analyses vast datasets from sensors and scientific reports, providing instant insights into key environmental indicators such as air quality, water resources, land use, and biodiversity.

Dr Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, said the initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to using digital innovation to protect ecosystems. “This AI-powered platform enhances transparency, supports data-driven decisions and preserves our natural heritage for future generations,” she said.

The launch builds on the findings of the 2025 State of the Environment Report, which tracked over 1,000 key performance indicators. Traditionally a time-intensive task, reporting will now be automated through ADSOEP’s features, including live dashboards, predictive modelling, and AI-generated recommendations.

According to Ahmed Baharoon, Executive Director at EAD, the world’s first AI-powered environment portal simplifies complex data into actionable intelligence. “It empowers policymakers to respond swiftly and effectively to environmental changes,” he noted.

Developed with strategic partners e& enterprise and Accord Business Group, ADSOEP includes several cutting-edge tools: smart KPI automation, real-time dashboards, natural language processing, and human-in-the-loop review for quality assurance. It aligns with international environmental reporting frameworks such as the DAPSI(W)R(M) model.

Khaled Murshid, CEO of e& enterprise, said this innovation demonstrates the UAE’s leadership in environmental governance through AI. Marcel Yammine, CEO of ABG, added that the platform sets a transformative precedent for sustainability efforts in the region and globally.

As the world’s first AI-powered environment portal, ADSOEP highlights the UAE’s bold vision in digital transformation and climate leadership, ensuring data transparency, efficient resource use and lasting impact.
