Dubai Duty Free posted its highest ever January sales, hitting AED858 million ($235M), the best start to a year in the retailer’s history.

DUBAI: Dubai Duty Free (DDF) is celebrating a record-smashing start to 2026, reporting AED858.21 million ($235 million) in sales for January. This marks the highest monthly sales ever recorded for the retailer in the month.

The strong performance comes amid continued post-pandemic recovery in global travel and robust passenger traffic through Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the busiest in the world. DDF attributed the surge to increased spending per passenger and renewed consumer confidence across categories including perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, and electronics.

“This is the strongest ever January in Dubai Duty Free’s history,” said a spokesperson, noting that strategic promotions, passenger volumes, and retail upgrades played a key role.

DDF continues to expand its footprint and upgrade retail environments to maintain its position as a global leader in airport retail, with plans to enhance digital touchpoints and launch more targeted offers through 2026.
