Air India Express secured a Skytrax 4-Star rating after its first audit, highlighting rapid growth, service upgrades and rising guest satisfaction.
DUBAI: Air India Express has received a prestigious 4-Star World Airline Rating from Skytrax following its first comprehensive international audit, marking a major milestone in the airline’s ongoing transformation strategy. The recognition places the carrier among a select group of airlines in India and West Asia to achieve the distinction, which represents the highest rating currently attainable for a value carrier.
The Skytrax evaluation assessed standards across airport and onboard services using an independent global framework focused on quality, operational consistency and passenger experience. According to Skytrax, the Air India Express rating reflects strong service delivery, efficient cabin operations and a product offering aligned with customer expectations.
Air India Express Chairman Nipun Aggarwal described the recognition as validation of the airline’s rapid operational and customer experience improvements. He said the company had modernised its fleet, improved service standards and strengthened reliability while scaling operations across domestic and international markets.
The airline currently operates a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, with nearly two-thirds consisting of newer fuel-efficient planes. Recent upgrades include refreshed cabin interiors, improved seating, onboard ovens for hot meals and enhanced staff training programmes. These investments have supported the airline’s expansion into one of India’s largest domestic and short-haul international operators.
Officials said the Air India Express rating also reflects rising passenger advocacy and stronger customer loyalty metrics. The airline reported a record increase in its Net Promoter Score during the last financial year, with figures tripling to their highest recorded level. The score measures how likely passengers are to recommend a brand based on their travel experience.
Air India Express now operates more than 500 daily flights connecting 42 domestic destinations and 17 international locations across South Asia, Southeast Asia and West Asia, reinforcing its growing presence in the regional aviation market.
