Titan Watches is strengthening its Middle East presence with plans to expand to 70 exclusive stores over five years. The Tata Group brand has also showcased its Vetra automatic movement in Dubai, highlighting its shift towards premium mechanical watchmaking.

DUBAI: Titan Watches has announced plans to expand its Middle East retail network from 44 to 70 exclusive stores over the next five years, as the Tata Group-owned watchmaker strengthens its premium watchmaking ambitions with the introduction of its in-house Vetra automatic movement.

The announcement follows the brand’s first experiential showcase at Mall of the Emirates, which ran until November 2, 2026, presenting mechanical engineering innovations alongside collections inspired by Indian craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Why is Titan Watches expanding in the UAE?

The Middle East accounts for approximately 40% of Titan’s international business, making it an important market for the company’s growth strategy.

Titan currently operates 44 exclusive stores across the region, including 31 in the UAE, alongside a network of more than 400 multi-brand retail outlets.

The company plans to expand its regional exclusive-store network to 70 locations, including 40 stores in the UAE, as it targets customers seeking premium designs and mechanical craftsmanship.

Rahul Shukla, Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Titan Watches, identified the UAE’s established appreciation for luxury timepieces as an important opportunity for the brand.

What makes the new Vetra movement special?

At the centre of Titan’s latest watchmaking development is Vetra, an automatic mechanical movement designed and manufactured in-house.

The Vetra 7A series uses a mechanical architecture capable of supporting several functions, including GMT and Big-Date complications, alongside a 72-hour power reserve.

Each movement is hand-assembled and individually tested, reflecting the company’s growing investment in precision engineering.

The new movement powers Titan’s Signature Automatics collection, combining technical performance with contemporary watch design.

Which premium Titan collections were showcased?

The Dubai experience highlighted several collections representing different aspects of the brand’s craftsmanship.

Nebula features watches crafted in solid 18-carat gold, drawing inspiration from traditional Indian artistic techniques.

Raga celebrates women’s personal style through distinctive designs, while Edge focuses on minimalist aesthetics and ultra-slim watchmaking.

The showcase also featured Stellar, a collection inspired by the cosmos, demonstrating Titan’s broader approach to premium design.

How does Dubai fit into Titan’s global ambitions?

Titan Watches entered the GCC market through Oman in 1994 and has since established a retail presence across all seven emirates.

The company is now placing greater emphasis on premium mechanical watches, appealing to customers interested in watch movements, craftsmanship and sophisticated design.

According to Shukla, the UAE’s premium watch segment is growing by approximately 5% annually, compared with 2% to 3% for fashion watches.

Impact to expect

The expansion of Titan Watches could increase competition in the UAE’s premium watch segment, bringing more mechanical timepieces and distinctive Indian designs to regional consumers. Additional stores may also strengthen Dubai’s position as a regional destination for international watchmaking brands.
