Sheikh Hamdan launches Jood for ‘Giving Back to the Community’

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has launched a new platform called “Jood” to support social and humanitarian efforts in Dubai. This platform aims to bring together various stakeholders and strengthen community development in line with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.

Jood is unique in its approach, focusing on encouraging people to give back to their community. It provides a secure and official way for individuals, companies, and organizations to contribute to social causes, particularly in areas like health, education, and welfare.

The platform encourages participation from everyone, regardless of nationality, and seeks to foster collaboration among different groups to improve society. It aims to make the process transparent and efficient, ensuring that contributions are used effectively for the benefit of the community.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, emphasized the importance of Jood in advancing community empowerment activities. She highlighted its role in facilitating contributions to sustainable projects, especially in vital areas like education and healthcare.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director-General of the Digital Dubai Authority, praised Jood for its innovative use of technology to support community initiatives. He highlighted its alignment with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the city’s strategic direction towards digital services.

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director-General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, emphasized the platform’s role in driving social progress. He noted its trustworthiness as a destination for charitable contributions and its support for diverse community initiatives.

Jood aims to foster private sector involvement in community development projects and promote social cohesion. It seeks to ensure transparency in the use of contributions and collaborate with relevant authorities to support the social sector.

By focusing on sustainable projects in areas like education and healthcare, Jood aims to make a lasting difference in Dubai’s community.
