Here’s how you can help victims of the tragic Turkey-Syria Earthquake
Fri 10 Feb 2023World: Life for millions across Turkey and Syria changed forever, as two consecutive earthquakes sent shockwaves across hundreds of miles, Dubai Cares invites you to help the victims of this tragedy.
The UAE has united in its efforts to support families affected by the recent devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, through the launch of “Bridges of Giving”, a nationwide community volunteering initiative that will bring the UAE together to assemble relief kits for families affected by this natural disaster. The initiative is led by UAE humanitarian organizations including Dubai Cares, and Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Authority among others, in close coordination with the UAE Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC).

The death toll from the quakes is over 16,000, with many still missing and critically injured. The World Health Organization put the number of people affected by the disaster at 23 million. At least 6,000 buildings collapsed, many with residents still inside them. Rescue efforts continue to be the top priority, with some 25,000 deployed in Turkey and thousands more sent in from overseas — but a bitter winter storm now threatens the lives of the survivors and of those still trapped under rubble.
