Dubai Humanitarian airlift delivers 96 tonnes of medical aid to Afghanistan, supporting over 250,000 people with essential healthcare supplies.
DUBAI: Dubai Humanitarian airlift has delivered critical medical assistance to Afghanistan, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to global humanitarian support under the directives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The operation transported 96 metric tonnes of life-saving medicines and supplies to Kabul to support communities facing ongoing challenges.
The Dubai Humanitarian airlift departed from Al Maktoum International Airport and included essential relief items from World Health Organization, Doctors Without Borders, and UNICEF. The shipment is expected to support more than 250,000 people over a three-month period by enabling access to vital healthcare services.
This initiative highlights the adaptability of Dubai Humanitarian in responding to evolving global crises. By coordinating with international partners and logistics providers, the organisation continues to ensure that essential aid reaches vulnerable populations through efficient and timely delivery channels.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, said the operation demonstrates the importance of flexible logistics solutions. He noted that while some aid moves through established routes, others require the rapid activation of new corridors across air, land, or multimodal systems to meet urgent needs.
The Dubai Humanitarian airlift is part of broader efforts that have seen more than 140 metric tonnes of relief supplies delivered to regions including Lebanon, Gaza, and Afghanistan in recent weeks. These operations underline Dubai’s role as a global hub for humanitarian aid and crisis response.
By leveraging strong partnerships and advanced logistics capabilities, Dubai Humanitarian continues to sustain critical aid flows, ensuring life-saving support reaches those most in need during emergencies.
