DUBAI: Vasu Shroff legacy continues to inspire as tributes pour in from across the Indian community and leading organisations in the UAE, following the passing of the renowned businessman and philanthropist. Widely regarded as a pillar of the diaspora, his influence extended far beyond commerce into social and cultural development.

Chandrashekhar Bhatia, Chairman of Global Bharat Federation and Director of Nilgiri Trading, highlighted that Vasu Shroff’s contributions spanned education, healthcare, and crisis support. He noted that Shroff believed in building lives, not just businesses, empowering individuals with opportunity and hope. His passing, he said, is a profound loss to both the Indian community and the UAE.

Jugal Harwani, Vice Chairman, Textile Merchants Group, remembered his legacy, “Dada Vasu Shroff was a pillar of our community and a founding member of TEXMAS. His extraordinary vision and steadfast guidance played a defining role in elevating TEXMAS to its esteemed position today. The entire textile fraternity has been profoundly enriched by his leadership and dedicated service.
Beyond his professional achievements, his legacy is marked by an exceptional commitment to philanthropy. Among his many contributions, his instrumental role in establishing the Hindu Crematorium and the Jebel Ali Temple reflects his deep sense of responsibility towards the community.”

Sachu Manwani, former secretary – Texmas, described him as a pillar of strength and integrity whose guidance shaped many lives. He recalled Vasu Shroff’s unwavering support during difficult times, adding that his legacy lives on through the people he uplifted and the values he instilled.
The Global Bharat Federation also mourned the loss of its patron, calling him a visionary who journeyed from the era of Partition to building a remarkable legacy in Dubai. The organisation noted his role in establishing the Vasu Shroff Award under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, recognising excellence and service.

Dr. Sahitya Chaturvedi, secretary-IBPC (Indian Business and Professional Council) highlighted Vasu Shroff’s broader vision, including initiatives supporting veterinary care, eco-friendly crematoriums, cultural preservation and even regional sports unity. His efforts reflected a deep commitment to both tradition and progress.
In a joint statement, IBPC Dubai, the Indian Sports Club and GBF Middle East expressed profound sorrow, calling his passing the end of an era. IBPC Chairman Siddharth Balachandran said Vasu Shroff was a moral compass for generations, while Vice Chairman Sunil Sinha noted that his legacy would continue through institutions and lives he shaped.

Dayal Hiranandani, Managing Director of D.J. General Trading, described Vasu Shroff as a respected businessman and philanthropist whose humility and generosity strengthened community bonds and uplifted those in need.
