UAE food supply stability was confirmed by the Minister of Economy and Tourism during a market inspection in Dubai.
DUBAI: The UAE has confirmed UAE food supply stability as markets continue to receive strong shipments of agricultural products, leading to a noticeable decline in fruit and vegetable prices.
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, made the remarks during an inspection tour of the Fruit and Vegetable Market in Al Aweer, Dubai. The visit aimed to monitor food availability, review price levels and assess market readiness to meet national demand.
According to the minister, markets across the country are witnessing a significant abundance of produce, supported by the steady arrival of shipments from various countries.
He said the UAE food supply stability is reflected in the strong supply of crops reaching local markets, which has contributed to lower prices for several products compared with recent days.
Bin Touq noted that the continued inflow of agricultural shipments is expected to support the downward trend in prices over the coming days as additional supplies arrive.
During the visit, the minister also reviewed the unloading of new food shipments at the market. Traders confirmed that unloading operations are continuing and that further deliveries are scheduled in the coming days.
Market traders said the arrival of additional shipments of essential food commodities will increase supply levels further, helping maintain price stability and benefiting consumers.
Officials said the current market conditions demonstrate the resilience of the country’s supply chain and its ability to maintain UAE food supply stability despite regional challenges.
In his concluding remarks, Bin Touq urged consumers to remain calm and purchase only what they need. He cautioned against excessive stockpiling of goods and reassured residents that food products remain widely available across markets.
He also confirmed that the ministry will continue monitoring market conditions closely while responding to consumer feedback and addressing any challenges that may arise.
