UAE officials confirmed Ebola preparedness while reviewing national surveillance systems, precautionary measures and healthcare response capabilities.

ABU DHABI: UAE authorities have reaffirmed the country’s Ebola preparedness following a high-level review of national health surveillance systems, precautionary measures and emergency response capabilities.

The meeting was organised by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Ministry of Health and Prevention under the supervision of Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, with participation from strategic partners and relevant government entities.

The UAE has continued strengthening its public health systems over recent years through advanced disease monitoring programmes, emergency preparedness plans and coordination with international health organisations. The country has also invested heavily in healthcare infrastructure and rapid-response capabilities to address emerging health risks and communicable diseases.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the latest developments related to Ebola alongside the UAE’s approved national health response systems. Discussions focused on precautionary monitoring measures, coordination between local and international entities and the country’s ability to respond quickly to evolving health situations.

Authorities said the UAE’s Ebola preparedness strategy is continuously reviewed and updated according to international standards and global best practices. Officials added that healthcare facilities and medical teams remain fully prepared to respond efficiently if required.

NCEMA and MoHAP also stressed the importance of relying on official information sources and avoiding the spread of inaccurate or misleading health-related information online.

The authorities said the UAE remains committed to protecting public health and strengthening community awareness through proactive planning and integrated coordination across sectors.

Officials added that ongoing collaboration between national agencies and strategic partners continues to play an important role in reinforcing the country’s broader health preparedness framework.

The UAE’s Ebola preparedness review comes as countries worldwide continue monitoring infectious disease risks and strengthening preventive healthcare systems to improve emergency readiness and protect communities.
