Starlink UAE launch introduces Mini and Standard kits, giving residents access to satellite internet with flexible residential plans.
DUBAI: The Starlink UAE launch marks a major step in expanding satellite internet access across the Emirates, with residential users now able to order and install kits for home connectivity. The service is currently offering Mini and Standard hardware options tailored specifically for households.
The rollout confirms that only two kits are available for residential customers at this stage. The Mini kit is designed for compact usage and portability, while the Standard kit is positioned as the primary option for most homes, offering stronger performance and broader coverage. Both kits include essential components such as a satellite dish, router, cables and mounting hardware, allowing users to get online within minutes of setup.
Installation flexibility is another key highlight. Users can choose between a pivot mount for roof setups or a wall mount for exterior installation, depending on their property layout. However, certain roof types such as tile or clay are not recommended for standard mounting solutions, according to guidance provided with the kits.
In terms of service plans, the Starlink UAE launch includes two main options. The Residential plan offers unlimited data with standard speeds, making it suitable for typical household use. Meanwhile, Residential Lite provides a more affordable alternative with unlimited but deprioritised data, meaning speeds may drop during peak hours.
The entry of Starlink into the UAE reflects growing demand for reliable, high-speed internet in both urban and remote areas. By leveraging satellite technology, the service aims to complement existing broadband infrastructure and improve connectivity options across the country.
