SHARJAH: The Sharjah Executive Council, led by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, convened on Tuesday at the Ruler’s Office. The session, attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler, focused on key agenda items, including an important update on impounded vehicle fees.

The Council approved a new decision regarding the fees associated with releasing impounded vehicles in the emirate. The decision applies to all vehicle types and owners or drivers, streamlining the process for retrieving impounded vehicles while maintaining strict enforcement of public safety laws.

This policy specifically addresses vehicles impounded for serious violations, such as reckless driving or negligence, which pose risks to public safety and property. Owners can retrieve their vehicles once the legal impoundment period is complete and the prescribed fees are paid.

The decision underscores Sharjah’s commitment to ensuring road safety and fostering accountability among drivers. By setting clear guidelines for impounded vehicle retrieval, the emirate aims to balance public welfare with efficient administrative processes.

In addition to this policy update, the Council discussed other agenda items focused on sustainability and community welfare. However, the vehicle fee decision remains a cornerstone of the meeting, reflecting Sharjah’s proactive approach to safety and governance.
