DUBAI: Dubai Municipality has begun the second phase of the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project, aligned with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to make Dubai the world’s best city. This AED400 million project aims to transform Al Mamzar Corniche into a premier beachfront destination by late 2025.

Covering 125,000 square metres, the development includes a public beach exclusively for women, complete with a gated entrance, privacy fencing, night swimming, and tailored amenities. Additionally, a 1,000-metre network of running, cycling, and walking tracks will connect the beach with Al Mamzar Park, offering a unique blend of waterfront and green space.

State-of-the-art facilities such as a 2,000-square-metre skateboarding area, seasonal event zones, children’s play areas, and landscaped spaces enhance the site. Public amenities include restrooms, changing rooms, and wellness facilities designed for inclusivity. Smart technology will ensure safety and convenience, featuring AI surveillance, crowd management tools, and smart luggage lockers.

Restaurants, cafés, and recreational spaces will boost business opportunities, fostering economic growth while elevating visitor experiences.

Phase one of the project, now 45% complete, spans 275,000 square metres. Highlights include a 200-metre pedestrian bridge linking the creek’s banks, a 300-metre night swimming beach, and 5 kilometres of walkways. Additional facilities include barbecue zones, jet ski marinas, and ample parking.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of Dubai Municipality’s Public Facilities Agency, said, “This project aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing our leadership in sustainable, innovative infrastructure that enhances quality of life and solidifies our global tourism appeal.”

With cutting-edge designs and world-class amenities, Al Mamzar Beach will redefine global beach tourism standards, cementing Dubai as a top destination for residents and visitors alike.
