ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has welcomed Saudi Arabia’s initiative to host talks between the United States and Ukraine, expressing optimism that this step will help de-escalate tensions and pave the way for a lasting resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
In a statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts, acknowledging its role in fostering dialogue and promoting peace. The Ministry stressed that such discussions are essential to ending human suffering, preventing further casualties, and addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Reaffirming its commitment to regional stability, the UAE called for increased diplomatic engagement and peaceful negotiations as the only viable path to resolving conflicts. The statement underscored the nation’s consistent stance in supporting diplomatic efforts that prioritise dialogue over confrontation.
