According to a statement from the ministry’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre, a further 149 people were injured in the attacks. The preliminary figures were carried by Lebanon’s National News Agency and may be subject to revision as rescue operations continue.
The airstrikes reportedly targeted residential areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut as well as locations in southern Lebanon. Emergency teams were deployed immediately after the strikes, with ambulances transferring the wounded to nearby hospitals. Medical authorities said several of the injured remain in critical condition.
Local officials have not yet released full details regarding the specific targets or the extent of infrastructure damage. However, images circulating from affected districts show damaged buildings and debris scattered across streets. Civil defence crews are continuing search operations in some areas amid fears that casualties could rise.
