DUBAI: In a heartwarming move ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, Dubai Rental Disputes Center, with help from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est., has freed 86 inmates who were jailed over unpaid rent. More than AED 6.8 million in outstanding claims were settled, giving these individuals a fresh start and easing the burden on their families.
A second chance for those in need
These inmates were behind bars due to rent-related financial cases. With their debts now cleared, they can reunite with their families and move forward without the weight of past disputes.
Judge AbdulQader Mousa Mohammed, Chairman of the Dubai Rental Disputes Center, praised the initiative, saying it reflects Dubai’s commitment to fairness and compassion. He stressed that while legal rights must be upheld, humanitarian values should also be considered when making decisions.
Dubai’s commitment to kindness
Saleh Zahir Al Mazrouei, Director General of the Charity Establishment, highlighted how this initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision of social support, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
“This initiative brings happiness to families just in time for Eid, giving people a fresh start without financial worries,” he said.
A community that cares
By focusing on helping people in tough situations, Dubai continues to show compassionate leadership. This step ensures that those struggling with rental disputes get a fair chance to rebuild their lives and contribute to society.
