Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 drives rapid growth, attracting 350+ companies and targeting $1 billion GDP boost by 2033.

Dubai: Dubai’s fast-growing digital economy has marked a major milestone with over 350 gaming companies now operating in the city, as part of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG33). Overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the initiative is positioning Dubai as a top-10 global gaming hub by 2033, aiming to generate 30,000 new jobs and contribute $1 billion to GDP.

Since DPG33’s launch in November 2023 by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the city has welcomed over 60 new gaming companies, with 12% being large global firms. Impressively, 260 companies are already classified as specialised game developers, contributing to the $200 billion global gaming market.

His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, highlighted the significance of this growth:
“Dubai’s gaming achievements reflect its visionary commitment to economic diversification and future-readiness. The sector’s vast potential will continue to attract innovators, driving our competitiveness and fulfilling the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).”

DPG33 is designed to cultivate a future-facing gaming ecosystem through a strategic focus on talent development, entrepreneurship, digital content creation, and technological innovation. The programme fosters partnerships with academic institutions and global firms, while hosting events, exhibitions, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen the city’s position in the international gaming space.

With a dynamic support system for startups and creatives, Dubai offers an ideal environment for game developers, publishers, and technology innovators. This forward-thinking ecosystem not only attracts investment but also helps export Dubai’s creative and digital prowess to global audiences.

DPG33’s mission aligns closely with Dubai’s broader ambition to be a global capital of innovation, offering unmatched opportunities in advanced technology sectors.
