Mumbai: Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS) emerged as the global leader in the May 2023 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), boasting an impressive 11 students achieving a perfect score of 45. This exceptional feat solidified DAIS’s position at the forefront of educational excellence. Among the 22 schools worldwide with multiple top scorers, DAIS shone brightest, setting a remarkable standard in academic achievement.

The IBDP, designed for students aged 16-19, employs a points scoring system with a maximum of 45 points across six subjects. To earn the prestigious diploma from the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), students must secure a minimum of 24 points, along with successful completion of the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) subject, a 4,000-word Extended Essay, and a project on Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

Earning a perfect score of 45 is a rare accomplishment, achieved by fewer than 1% of students annually. Remarkably, 10% of the 106 DAIS students who undertook the exams were declared top scorers, far surpassing the global average. This outstanding performance reflects the exceptional teaching quality and dedication of the DAIS faculty, as acknowledged by the IBO.

Following DAIS, King’s College School in the UK secured the second position with seven top-performing students, while Dulwich College Shanghai-Puxi in China followed closely with six students achieving the maximum score. Isha Ambani Piramal, Vice-Chairperson of DAIS, attributed the remarkable success of the 2023 IBDP cohort to the combined efforts of talented students and dedicated educators, said that ““The brilliant achievement of our IBDP class of 2023 students is a testament to their talent and hard work and a tribute to the extraordinary commitment and dedication of our teachers and leadership team.”

The IB website lists 22 schools globally with at least one top scorer, each receiving an award certificate to honor their students’ achievements. Among DAIS’s standout performers are Aama Sanghai, Aamav Gogri, Abhimanyu Pandey, Aaryan Jagtap, Aditya Mehta, Advit Ranawade, Anavi Kaul, Arushi Maheshwari, Dhruv Bhalla, Kshitig Seth, and Vivan Turakhia.
