Fujairah: The Tennis and Country Club Fujairah hosted ‘The Magical World of Children’s Literature” event in style with several activities which included songs and skits played by children, and storytelling by the Author Maheen Zeeshan. The event coordinated by Elisaiah, and Danillo Kasabasic, turned out to be a big success and inspired the young audience.

The activities of the event kick-started with the opening song “My Favorite Things” followed by Elisaiah’s pleasant reception of Maheen Zeeshan, the author of the ‘Talha and Aminah Tales’ with six titles published in Oxford University Press. Ellie introduced the ‘Talha and Aminah Tales’ series which is meant for children and parents to read together and serve as an opportunity how to deal with the anxiety that children feel when visiting new places.

The young performers from different schools of Fujairah left the audience awestruck with their performance of the skit “A Visit to the Doctor”, as well as the songs “Muddy Puddles”, “Dentist Song”, and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”. Tia’s phenomenal performance of violin and Danillo’s piano music got a big round of applause from the spectators. Zaya, Mustafa, Tia, Mekaydesh, Manal, Rahim, Aminah, Talha, Sara Bachelet, Sara Ali, Menaal, and Haris Munir were awarded certificates for their amazing performance at the event.

Sharing the inspiration behind her books, Maheen said, “in my stories, I particularly focus on the topics which are largely underpinned in children’s literature. My book ‘A Visit to the Doctor is a token of love for all doctors and nurses whose attention and efforts keep people healthy. I believe for children to build up their confidence, it is important that they read the books that define their future lives and empower them to cope with and handle the world as it is.”

“Today’s children are more realistic, and they do not need princesses, knights, or superheroes, they like to see characters like themselves who can treat patients, be an inventor, pilot the skies, or captain a ship”, Maheen added.

During the hour-long event, Maheen also briefed how to string together thoughts into a storyline for writing an inspiring storybook. The eminent author speaking at the TCCF shared her ideas and dreams of a world where children could discover their identities and strengths and celebrate their little achievements. Maheen strongly believes that reading lays the foundations for writing, and if we cultivate the reading habit among children, they can experience the joy of writing books. children literature enjoy

Suggesting parents, the develop book reading habits in children, Maheen said, “we must have a book reading corner in the house with age-appropriate books for children and make bedtime reading a must activity in our homes.”

Hania Reggi, Senior Marketing and Sales Manager at TCCF hailed the wonderful event saying: “ultimately TCCF thinks of the young generation and motivates them to read books, not as a necessity, but a thirst for knowledge and passion for literature. TCCF plays it vital role in keeping the next generation healthier, happier, and knowledgeable through sports and cultural activities and events”.

Maheen conveyed special thanks to Anushay for her contribution and for making the event so special and perfect with the event planning and decorations. The visiting dignitaries were given away free books by the author at the end of the fest. children literature enjoy
