ISLAMABAD: A new visa policy has been announced by Pakistan, waiving visa fees for nationals of 126 countries to boost tourism and attract foreign investment in the country.
The policy, which takes effect tonight, simplifies the visa process, allowing residents of these countries to obtain their visas within 10 minutes by filling out a simple online form with 30 questions. The visas will be valid for three months and can be easily renewed.
Residents of Gulf countries will receive visas on arrival, and special provisions are being made for pilgrims to promote religious tourism.
Foreign tourists are encouraged to visit Pakistan to experience its natural beauty, including green valleys, deserts, oceans, and landscapes. The aim is to showcase Pakistan’s tourism potential to the world.
Dedicated desks will be set up at airports to welcome tourists, with all relevant authorities ensuring their safety and security. Gilgit Baltistan has seen a significant influx of foreign tourists, even outnumbering domestic visitors annually.

Investors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other countries are being encouraged to invest in Pakistan’s tourism sector, which will help lower lodging costs and improve facilities for tourists. ThecPakistan Tourism Development Corporation, in collaboration with provincial governments, will also encourage private sector investment.
