Terra at Expo City Dubai is launching Summer, Sorted!, a four-month programme of workshops, family adventures and wellness experiences designed to connect visitors with nature. The Summer, Sorted programme offers activities for adults, children and families, blending learning, creativity and environmental exploration throughout the summer.
DUBAI: Looking for ways to keep children engaged, learn new skills or simply escape the summer routine without leaving the city?
Terra at Expo City Dubai believes the answer lies in reconnecting with nature. Through its new Summer, Sorted! programme, running from June to September, visitors of all ages are being invited to explore a diverse calendar of experiences centred on creativity, wellbeing, discovery and environmental learning.
Designed as a seasonal programme rather than a traditional event series, the Summer, Sorted programme transforms Terra into a hub of exploration where science, nature and hands-on experiences come together. The initiative aligns closely with Terra’s mission of helping people better understand the natural world and their relationship with it.
At its core, the programme aims to show how biodiversity influences everyday life, from the food people eat and the environments they inhabit to personal wellbeing and sustainable living practices. Through interactive experiences, visitors can gain new perspectives while participating in enjoyable and meaningful activities.
For adults and teenagers, one of the key highlights is the “Try Something at Terra” workshop series. Running monthly throughout the summer, the programme encourages participants to develop practical skills while engaging with nature. Sessions include Nature’s Kitchen, which explores plant-forward cooking, Upcycle & Make, focused on creative sustainability, and a nature photography workshop delivered in collaboration with Fujifilm.
Another standout experience is A Taste of the Hive, an immersive workshop that introduces participants to the fascinating world of bees and pollinators. Guests will sample locally sourced honey varieties, learn about biodiversity and create their own beeswax candle, connecting environmental awareness with hands-on learning.
For those seeking relaxation and mindfulness, Terra is also bringing back its popular Art of Stillness series. Combining sound healing, gentle movement, reflective journaling and nature-inspired creative activities, the sessions are designed to encourage visitors to slow down and reconnect with themselves and their surroundings.
Families and children are equally central to the Summer, Sorted programme. The Expo City Dubai Summer Camp offers an indoor educational experience for children aged five to 12, combining science, storytelling, creativity and environmental exploration. The camp is designed to keep young minds engaged throughout the school holidays while nurturing curiosity about the natural world.
Other family-focused attractions include Sea You at Terra: An Ocean Quest, a two-day festival celebrating marine ecosystems through interactive challenges and educational activities. Children can also participate in Bee Scientist, a hands-on beekeeping experience that introduces young learners to the crucial role pollinators play in sustaining ecosystems.
Throughout the season, families can also visit Taqa Island, Terra’s interactive indoor play space that encourages environmental learning through imaginative play.
By combining education, entertainment and environmental awareness, the Summer, Sorted programme offers a fresh approach to summer activities in Dubai. Rather than simply filling free time, the initiative aims to inspire curiosity, creativity and a deeper appreciation for the natural world among visitors of all ages.
