Aster DM Healthcare will invest in International Modern Hospital, adding 116 beds and 39 outpatient clinics to its growing UAE network.
DUBAI: Aster DM Healthcare is expanding its UAE footprint through an agreement to invest in International Modern Hospital in Dubai, a move that would add 116 hospital beds and form part of the healthcare group’s investment programme worth more than Dh1 billion over the next five years.
The agreement with Al Tawfeeq for Development and Investment would bring the multi-specialty hospital in Al Mankhool into Aster’s wider healthcare network, subject to regulatory approvals.
The Aster Dubai healthcare expansion comes as the group increases investment across primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care in the UAE.
What International Modern Hospital adds
International Modern Hospital has operated in Dubai since 2005 and has 116 beds and 39 outpatient clinics.
Once the transaction is completed, Aster’s UAE hospital network would expand to 11 facilities. IMH would become the sixth facility operating under Aster Hospitals in the country.
The additional 116 beds would take Aster Hospitals’ UAE capacity from 399 to 515 beds.
Aster currently operates 10 hospitals, 112 clinics and 310 pharmacies across the UAE, alongside digital healthcare platforms.

More than Dh1 billion earmarked for UAE healthcare
The transaction forms part of Aster’s previously announced commitment to invest more than Dh1 billion in the UAE healthcare sector over five years.
Founder Chairman Dr Azad Moopen said the UAE remained a key market for Aster and that the addition of IMH would strengthen the group’s presence in Dubai.
Aster expects integration with IMH to give patients access to a wider network of specialists, stronger referral pathways and its digital healthcare capabilities.

Hospital’s identity and legacy to continue
International Modern Hospital has served patients in Al Mankhool for more than two decades.
The hospital was established in 2005 and inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. Representatives of IMH said preserving the hospital’s name, legacy and quality of service was an important consideration when selecting a partner for its next phase.
Aster said combining the hospital’s existing capabilities with its clinical, operational and digital infrastructure could improve continuity of care across its network.
Aster strengthens its Dubai presence
The Aster Dubai healthcare expansion also highlights continued private investment in the UAE’s healthcare infrastructure as providers seek to expand specialist services and integrated care.
Financial terms for the IMH transaction have not been publicly disclosed, and completion remains dependent on regulatory clearance.
Impact to expect
If approved, the investment will increase Aster’s hospital capacity in the UAE and could give Dubai patients broader access to specialists, outpatient services and connected healthcare across hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and digital platforms.
