SIBF 2025 welcomes visitors from 118 countries, celebrating books, creativity, and global literary connections at Expo Centre Sharjah.
SHARJAH: The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025) has once again cemented its global status as a cultural and literary landmark, welcoming tens of thousands of book lovers, writers, and publishers to the Expo Centre Sharjah. With participation from 2,350 publishers and exhibitors representing 118 countries, the event is one of its most expansive and inclusive editions to date.
Held under the theme “Between You and a Book,” this year’s fair is a vibrant celebration of storytelling and its power to connect people across continents. More than 1,200 activities — including panel discussions, book signings, performances, and workshops — are being hosted, with over 250 prominent guests from 66 countries engaging visitors of all ages and interests.
For many attendees, SIBF 2025 is a moment of discovery and connection. From Sudanese novelist Shatha Mohammed, who described the fair as “a truly special experience,” to first-time Filipino visitors searching for anime editions, the event resonates with diverse audiences.
Huda, a teacher from India, shared her excitement about sourcing both classics and contemporary reads for her students, while Omani exhibitor Faris Al Jabari highlighted the success of Oman Post’s collectible stamps, merging history, literature, and art.
The fair’s international appeal was echoed by Danish exhibitor Alex Gribanov, who has attended SIBF for 17 years. “That’s the power of stories to connect generations,” he reflected, recalling visitors who returned years later to buy the same inspirational books. Nigerian author Femi Otedola’s memoir also drew attention, with his representative praising the fair’s global energy and flawless organisation.
From literary legends to manga fans, SIBF 2025 reaffirms that books are bridges — crossing borders, generations, and cultures to create lasting memories and meaningful conversations.
