Sharjah Creative Quarter nurtures talents, promotes design industries, and inspires creativity across fashion and innovation sectors.
SHARJAH: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has issued an Emiri Decree establishing the Sharjah Creative Quarter (SCQ), a specialised hub for innovation and design. Fully owned by the Sharjah government, this new initiative aims to bolster creative industries, attract talents, and position the emirate as a leader in modern design.
Strategically located in University City, SCQ will serve as a vibrant space to nurture creativity in areas such as fashion, jewellery, product design, and handicrafts. By partnering with local and international entities, the SCQ aims to promote design excellence and support emerging and established brands.
Key features include manufacturing spaces, cultural hubs, and platforms to showcase contemporary designs. These facilities will encourage collaboration between designers, artisans, and manufacturers, fostering a dynamic and creative environment.
The Sharjah Creative Quarter is also mandated to organise exhibitions, workshops, and events, further enriching Sharjah’s cultural landscape. It will facilitate partnerships with regional and global organisations, contributing to the growth of design innovation and sustainability in the emirate.
Led by a Head appointed by Emiri Decree, the SCQ will have a Director overseeing daily operations. This structure ensures the smooth execution of its objectives, including attracting leading regional brands and supporting creative professionals.
With its comprehensive mandate, the Sharjah Creative Quarter is poised to become a cornerstone of the region’s creative economy, inspiring innovation and celebrating modern design practices.
