ABU DHABI: Zayed National Museum and Bahrain National Museum have signed a landmark agreement to enhance cultural collaboration between the UAE and Bahrain. The partnership, led by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, focuses on conservation, museum management, and heritage promotion.
The agreement, signed by His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain’s Culture Authority, will strengthen cultural ties through joint exhibitions, staff training, and historical research.
Al Mubarak highlighted that this collaboration allows both nations to preserve and share their rich traditions, ensuring future generations stay connected to their heritage. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa echoed this sentiment, calling the memorandum a pioneering step in deepening cultural relations and knowledge exchange.
Under this partnership, the museums will launch exchange programmes, host joint exhibitions, and develop educational materials to engage diverse audiences. Experts from both countries will collaborate on historical research, share best practices in museum conservation, and provide specialised training for museum professionals.
Additionally, both institutions will regularly exchange exhibits and offer mutual consulting services to enhance museum science and visitor engagement.
By working together, Zayed National Museum and Bahrain National Museum aim to showcase the rich heritage of the Gulf region, fostering cultural understanding and ensuring the historical legacy of both nations continues to inspire future generations.
