All-women Firdaus Orchestra to present ‘Zayed and Rashid’ musical tribute at Expo City Dubai for 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations.

DUBAI: As part of the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations and the ongoing National Month campaign, the Firdaus Women’s Orchestra will deliver a special musical performance at the House of Arts in Expo City Dubai on December 2. The event is a collaboration between Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, and Expo City Dubai.

The orchestra, led by renowned Lebanese conductor Harout Fazlian, will headline the evening with “Zayed and Rashid,” a composition inspired by verses from The People and the Leader, a poem by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The piece pays tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, honouring their visionary role in founding the Union.

The performance also features musical pieces rooted in the Emirati heritage, showcasing the cultural richness and creative traditions of the region. It is part of a broader series of events organised by Brand Dubai to foster a sense of national pride and honour the UAE’s founding fathers.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, noted that the performance symbolises national gratitude and pride in the UAE’s achievements, including landmark projects like Expo City, which embodies the spirit of innovation and cooperation. She added that Brand Dubai is committed to curating experiences that celebrate the country’s past and its forward-looking ambitions.

The House of Arts, where the concert will be held, serves as a platform for traditional and contemporary Emirati creativity. Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director of Entertainment & Experiences at Expo City Dubai, emphasised that the event reflects the essence of the House of Arts—celebrating UAE’s growth through the lens of culture, music, and storytelling.

The Firdaus Orchestra, an all-female ensemble established during Expo 2020 Dubai, has earned acclaim for fusing classical and regional musical elements. Their performance at this year’s Eid Al Etihad celebration aims to bridge cultural heritage with modern expression, offering an inspiring tribute to the UAE’s journey.
