KUWAIT: The Kuwait Shooting Federation has confirmed the completion of preparations for the prestigious Amir of Kuwait International Shooting Championship. Scheduled from April 11th to 20th, the event will feature participants from five GCC countries: the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. Dozens of renowned shooters from the Arab region and beyond are expected to participate.
The championship will include various shotgun shooting events, such as men’s and women’s Skeet and Trap competitions. Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations and a member of the International Shooting Sports Federation, confirmed that additional Arab nations like Egypt, Morocco, and Lebanon will also compete. Italy and world champions from both European and Asian countries will further elevate the competition.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al-Otaibi highlighted the significant support the championship receives, leading to consistently high-level performances from participants. This growing success strengthens the event’s position as a key fixture in international shooting sports and emphasizes the development of this Olympic sport within the Arab world and the Gulf region.
Al-Otaibi also commended the cooperation with regional federations through various programs aimed at advancing the sport of shooting. The championship’s role in the growth of shooting sports in the region is undeniable, with more nations continuing to show interest in joining future editions of the tournament.
