Spartan Beast World Championship returns to Abu Dhabi for fourth edition
Wed 11 Sep 2024ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Spartan are excited to host the fourth edition of the Spartan Beast World Championship in Al Wathba Desert, Abu Dhabi, from 28th November to 1st December 2024.
This year’s championship will attract thousands of professional and amateur athletes, as well as local community members. The event kicks off with a new ladies-only Night Sprint on 28th November, featuring a five-kilometre route with 20 obstacles. This race offers female athletes a chance to compete privately and challenge themselves on the sand dunes of Al Wathba Desert.
On 29th November, the Night Sprint returns with the same five-kilometre distance and 20 obstacles, open to both men and women. This stage is known for its difficulty and is one of the toughest in the Spartan series.
The main event on 30th November is the 21-kilometre Beast Race, which includes 30 obstacles and will determine the Elite and Age Group World Champions. There will also be a one- to three-kilometre Obstacle Race for Kids. The championship concludes on 1st December with a range of races, including a three-kilometre Team Relay Race, a ten-kilometre Super Race, and a five-kilometre Sprint.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, anticipates another thrilling edition, noting the diverse race options for athletes of all abilities. Joe De Sena, Spartan Founder, praises Abu Dhabi’s challenging terrain and brutal obstacles, highlighting the event’s role in advancing obstacle course racing and expanding the global community.
