DP World becomes title sponsor of the Professional Golf Tour of India, now renamed the DP World-PGTI Tour, marking a major boost for Indian golf.

DUBAI/NEW DELHI: Dubai-based logistics giant DP World has deepened its presence in Indian sports, announcing a multi-year title sponsorship of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The domestic tour will now be known as the DP World-PGTI Tour.

The announcement follows DP World’s successful debut as title sponsor of the DP World India Championship in October 2025. While the value of the deal was not disclosed, PGTI called it one of the most significant investments in Indian golf history.

Under the partnership, DP World will help boost the tour’s infrastructure, sustainability, and global visibility, while also supporting grassroots development and junior programs across India.

Rizwan Soomar, CEO & MD of DP World for MENA & India, said: “This collaboration allows us to play a meaningful role in accelerating golf’s growth in India. We’re investing in youth, infrastructure, and global access.”

DP World is already a major backer of global golf, sponsoring the DP World Tour, the Ryder Cup, and the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. India is DP World’s largest market outside the UAE, with a 26% stake in the country’s port operations.

PGTI President Kapil Dev, India’s cricket legend, welcomed the move: “This is a new era of momentum, visibility, and excellence for Indian golf.”
