DUBAI: The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) has launched the Dubai AI Security Policy, taking a proactive step to enhance trust in AI technologies, encourage their development, and reduce security risks. This was announced during DESC’s role as the official cybersecurity partner at the Dubai AI and Web3 Festival 2024, held at Madinat Jumeirah.

This new policy supports the UAE’s goal of becoming a global AI leader by 2031, as outlined in the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence. The policy aligns with the vision of Dubai’s leadership to integrate AI into key sectors, enhancing the quality of life and boosting the city’s economy. It also supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the city’s economy and position Dubai as one of the top three global economic cities within the next decade.

The AI Security Policy is designed to accelerate AI adoption in Dubai and is a key part of DESC’s mission to create a secure digital environment. This initiative will protect AI innovations from cyber threats, promote collaboration between public and private sectors, and attract AI investments to Dubai, helping the city strengthen its leadership in cybersecurity.

The Dubai AI and Web3 Festival 2024 attracted over 5,000 business leaders, 500 investors, and around 100 exhibitors from 100 countries, all focused on the latest trends in AI and digital economies. Through this policy and related initiatives, DESC aims to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation, stimulate economic growth, and build a safer, more secure future for the Emirate.
