DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will roll out a Dubai traffic management plan featuring Variable Road Toll Pricing (Salik) and Variable Parking Tariffs to ease congestion and improve traffic flow across the city.

Starting January 2025, the new Salik system will offer toll-free travel from 1:00 am to 6:00 am. During weekday peak hours (6:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm), the toll will be AED6. For off-peak hours (10:00 am to 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm to 1:00 am), motorists will pay AED4. On Sundays, tolls will remain AED4 all day, with free passage during the same early morning window.

By March 2025, the Variable Parking Tariff Policy will also be in effect. Premium parking spaces will cost AED6 per hour, while other public spaces will charge AED4 per hour during peak periods (8:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm). Off-peak hours will retain current rates, with free parking from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am and all day on Sundays.

Additionally, a Congestion Pricing Policy will apply to event zones, introducing a fee of AED25 per hour for public parking during major events. The initial phase will begin in February 2025 near the Dubai World Trade Centre, ensuring smoother traffic flow during high-traffic gatherings.

These dynamic pricing policies reflect Dubai’s commitment to enhancing urban mobility and reducing congestion, aligning with its long-term vision for smarter, more efficient transportation solutions.
