RAS AL KHAIMAH: A major leap for green farming in the UAE has just sprouted — the country’s first organic fertiliser facility is now officially open in Ras Al Khaimah. Built by Uterra Middle East Agro Industries, the facility sits in Al Ghail Industrial Zone and represents a $20 million investment into the future of sustainable agriculture.

This 33,000 sqm site is the UAE’s first fully operational hub for high-performance organic soil fertilisers. The launch ceremony was attended by Uterra founder Dr Anatoli Unitsky and RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad, along with other key stakeholders.

Using cutting-edge biotech, Uterra’s facility produces chemical-free, non-GMO fertilisers designed to restore damaged soil and boost yields for farmers. According to Dr Unitsky, the plant is a game-changer for food security in the region. He highlighted that Uterra’s “fertility elixir” can improve yields by 30 to 120 per cent, enhance flavour, and increase nutrient levels in produce.

The plant is also supporting vertical and year-round farming techniques for fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Uterra’s eco-friendly formula is already making waves globally, with 1,000 tonnes produced annually in Belarus before now expanding to the UAE.

RAKEZ CEO Ramy Jallad praised Uterra’s innovation, calling the project a “model of bio-agriculture excellence” that will strengthen Ras Al Khaimah’s identity as a hub for sustainability and boost the UAE’s national sustainability goals.

This facility doesn’t just grow fertiliser—it’s planting the seeds for a healthier, greener tomorrow.
