DUBAI: BBC Storyworks’ new series, Voices of Vision, is airing globally on BBC News, celebrating UAE-based entrepreneurs who are pioneering global innovation. Part of the global campaign Invest in the Emirates, the series showcases the UAE’s dynamic innovation, logistics, and trade sectors.

The series includes four films: Future Solutions, Future Food, Future Technology, and Future Design. These films feature notable figures such as British designer Paul Bishop, Egyptian pitmaster Hatem Mattar, Swedish entrepreneur Magnus Olsson, American AgTech pioneer Sky Kurtz, Lebanese carmaker Ralph Debbas, and Emirati restaurateur Ahmed Abdulhakim. They are joined by Spanish chef Patricia Roig, Emirati scientist Dr. Saeed Alhassan Alkhazraji, Australian restaurateur Tom Arnel, Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, Lebanese venture capitalist Dany Farha, and Emirati investor Mahmoud Adi.

Each film tells a story of ambition and innovation, illustrating how these entrepreneurs are transforming their communities and making a lasting impact. Sky Kurtz, CEO of Pure Harvest, highlights how the UAE’s challenging climate and supportive environment are perfect for his groundbreaking food ventures. Similarly, Paul Bishop of Bishop Design describes Dubai as a land of opportunity, where dreams can become reality, thanks to its evolving landscape and supportive ecosystem.

The UAE’s business environment, with its tax-free benefits, global trade ties, and robust support systems, has become a launchpad for thousands of businesses. Government initiatives and private investment firms, such as Shorooq and BECO Capital, provide crucial support for start-ups, driving growth in biotech, food tech, and other industries. Magnus Olsson, co-founder of Careem, emphasizes the UAE’s rapid development and its ability to attract top talent and innovative ideas.
