DUBAI: The limousine transport sector in Dubai is experiencing impressive growth, with passenger numbers reaching 37,858,890 in the first half of 2024. This is a significant increase from 25,223,984 passengers during the same period in 2023, marking a remarkable rise of 12,634,906 passengers, or 50%. The sector includes both traditional and e-hailing limousine services, catering to a diverse range of customers.
In terms of trips, the sector recorded 21,757,983 trips in the first half of 2024, compared to 14,496,543 trips in the same timeframe last year. This reflects an increase of 7,261,440 trips, also representing a 50% rise.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the Public Transport Agency of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), noted that this sector has shown consistent growth over the past six years. To meet the rising demand for limousine transport, the number of companies operating in this sector has doubled from 123 last year to 244 this year. This surge in companies has led to an increase in the number of vehicles from 9,544 to 14,480.

Shakri highlighted that the growth figures for the first half of this year reflect RTA’s dedication to enhancing the transport sector in Dubai. The introduction of innovative services has significantly improved customer experiences and satisfaction, further boosting the emirate’s economic and digital growth.
These achievements reinforce Dubai’s status as a global hub for business, investment, and tourism, showcasing its appeal to both residents and visitors alike. As the limousine transport sector continues to thrive, it promises to play a vital role in Dubai’s ongoing development and success.
