ABU DHABI: The UAE has announced a full exemption of overstay fines for Iranian citizens, responding to regional tensions that have disrupted travel. The move comes under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reflects the nation’s humanitarian values during this ongoing UAE visa fine waiver.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that this exemption applies to all Iranian nationals in the UAE—whether they are residents or visitors, and regardless of their visa type.

This relief measure aims to support individuals who have been unable to return to Iran due to airspace closures and flight cancellations linked to the current regional crisis.

ICP urged all eligible individuals to register for the exemption through the ICP Smart Services Platform or visit one of the UAE’s customer happiness centres for assistance.

This initiative is part of the UAE’s broader commitment to supporting residents and visitors affected by uncontrollable circumstances. The country has consistently shown a willingness to step in with compassionate action during international crises.

By offering this UAE visa fine waiver, the government is helping ease the pressure on people caught in situations beyond their control, ensuring they are not further burdened by penalties.

Authorities reassured the public that the decision aligns with the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian considerations and maintaining the wellbeing of all communities within its borders.
