Pope Francis congratulates participants in the Human Fraternity Majlis

Abu Dhabi: Pope Francis, the esteemed Head of the Catholic Church, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to all participants in the Human Fraternity Majlis and contributors to the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity on the momentous occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity. This celebration marks the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity, a pivotal event that initiated a journey of dialogue, solidarity, and mutual respect in Abu Dhabi.

Expressing his joy, Pope Francis acknowledged that the journey, which commenced five years ago, has continued to propagate the values of tolerance, coexistence, and acceptance of others. This ongoing commitment to fostering understanding among diverse communities reflects a shared vision for a more harmonious and interconnected world.

The Pontiff lauded the persistent efforts and unwavering support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. Their invaluable initiatives have been instrumental in promoting the essential principles of human fraternity, social solidarity, and the profound understanding that all humans are not only equal but intricately connected as brothers and sisters within the vast tapestry of one human family.

Furthermore, Pope Francis underscored that the realization of human fraternity necessitates a genuine recognition of the importance of equality among individuals. To truly embrace this shared humanity, he emphasized the critical role of promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence. Through these fundamental principles, the Pope conveyed his hope for a world where the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood prevail, fostering a global community founded on mutual respect and understanding.
