USA: Twitter has rolled out longer tweets to Twitter Blue subscribers in the United States of America, with paying users now able to post tweets up to 4,000 characters in length.

Longer tweets will be displayed in the main feed at standard length, with a ‘Show more…’ indicator pointing users to the remainder of the content.

Twitter long tweets

Honestly, it’s available only to Twitter Blue users, which means they will be able to post super long rants about whatever they choose in the app.

Also, read –

“[Twitter Blue users] can also compose longer Tweets in a Quote Tweet or reply. Standard functionality like posting media, creating polls and using hashtags still apply. Everyone will be able to read longer Tweets, but only Blue subscribers can create them.”

About Twitter Blue

Twitter Blue is an opt-in, paid subscription that adds a blue checkmark to your account and offers early access to select features, like Edit Tweet. Subscribe now with localized pricing starting at $8 (AED29)/month or $84 (AED308)/year in available countries to get the blue checkmark in addition to early access to features.

All Twitter Blue features will be available immediately except the blue checkmark, which will appear on eligible profiles after a review to ensure subscribed accounts meet all eligibility criteria.

Until now, Twitter used the blue checkmark to indicate active, notable, and authentic accounts of public interest that Twitter had independently verified based on certain requirements. Now the blue checkmark may mean two different things: either that an account was verified under the previous verification criteria (active and authentic), or that the account has an active subscription to Twitter Blue.
