London has recently been declared the smartest city in the world, according to an Oxford Economics study.
Oxford Economics evaluated the 1,000 largest cities on the globe in five categories: Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance.
Although New York swiped the top spot on the overall Index, London ranked highest in the human capital metric, surpassing Tokyo and Riyadh in second and third place, respectively.
London’s universities reportedly played a key role in achieving this status, attracting highly educated individuals from around the world – with 40% of London’s population born outside the UK.
