ABU DHABI: The UAE marks Emirati Doctor’s Day on March 11 each year, celebrating the dedication and contributions of local doctors in shaping the nation’s healthcare sector. This special day acknowledges their relentless efforts in providing top-quality medical care and strengthening public health.
Dr. Rashed Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, praised Emirati doctors for their innovative approach and exceptional expertise in addressing global health challenges. He noted that their role is crucial in ensuring a robust healthcare system capable of tackling crises and preventing diseases.
Prof. Humaid bin Harmal Al Shamsi, CEO of Burjeel Cancer Institute and President of Emirates Oncology Society, emphasised the unwavering support of UAE leadership in nurturing medical talent. He highlighted government-backed scholarships and training initiatives that empower Emirati doctors to excel in specialised fields.
Dr. Aysha Almentheri, Consultant Gynaecologist at Burjeel Medical City, shared her gratitude for the opportunities provided by the leadership. She credited advanced training in France for enhancing her skills and enabling her to deliver superior healthcare services to women.
