SHARJAH: A generous AED 3 million donation has given a heartwarming start to Sharjah’s new charitable drive—the Neighbours of the Prophet Endowment. The project, launched by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, aims to uplift the lives of orphans in Sharjah and beyond.
The donation, made by a benevolent woman, marks the very first contribution to the initiative led by the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation. It’s not just about money—it’s a powerful symbol of unity, compassion, and the community’s growing dedication to sustainable giving.
Inspired by the Qur’anic verse, “And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations”, the endowment is designed to support orphans not just financially, but in every aspect of life—from education and healthcare to mental and emotional support.
Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Foundation, praised the donation as a “shining example of true community spirit”. She said it represents the beginning of a movement that will hopefully attract even more support from individuals and organisations alike.
“This isn’t just a donation—it’s a long-term investment in dignity and hope,” she shared. “Every dirham helps shape a brighter future for our orphans and provides lasting blessings to those who give.”
The project ensures orphans receive the support they need for a dignified life, while donors benefit from the enduring reward of sadaqah jariyah—ongoing charity that brings blessings in life and beyond.
With this first act of kindness setting the tone, Sharjah’s Neighbours of the Prophet Endowment is all set to grow into a lasting legacy of love, care, and community-driven change.
