DUBAI: A delegation from the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), led by CEO Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, visited Hatta to monitor development projects and boost licenced marine tourism.

The visit featured key stops at Wadi Lim Lake and Hatta Kayak, renowned marine tourism spots. The team also met with Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, to discuss improved collaboration on marine and waterway management. Emphasising visitor satisfaction, both parties highlighted the need for enhanced facilities, aligning with Hatta’s rising popularity as a tourist hotspot.

Sheikh Saeed lauded stakeholders for advancing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform Hatta under Dubai’s strategic plan. He directed teams to strengthen marine services and support operators in the region.

“This visit reflects our dedication to the highest safety standards in managing Hatta’s waterways, reinforcing Dubai as a global tourism hub,” Sheikh Saeed remarked. “It ensures safety and quality for all marine activities.”

The CEO underscored that visitor safety remains the Authority’s top priority, calling for close cooperation among stakeholders and upgrading marine equipment in Hatta. He also highlighted Law No. 3 of 2023, which defines the DMA’s role in regulating and developing Dubai’s maritime sector following global standards.
