DUBAI: The Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC) has unveiled an extensive security and public safety strategy ahead of the Eid Al Adha holidays, ensuring smooth operations and joyous celebrations across the city.
His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Chairperson of ESC and Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, outlined a comprehensive plan involving coordination with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to secure all mosques, prayer grounds, and high-traffic areas. The aim is to maintain public safety, streamline traffic flow, and minimise congestion throughout the festive period.
The plan deploys an impressive arsenal of resources, including 34 marine security boats, two helicopters, five rescue boats, 139 ambulance points, 130 civil defence vehicles, and 515 security patrols. A 24/7 Command and Control Centre is in place to handle emergency responses efficiently.

For transportation, over 16,981 limousines, 13,867 taxis, 1,240 public buses, and 43 marine transport vessels will support the public. Additionally, 104 metro trains and multiple traffic management centres will ensure mobility across Dubai. Hospitals, clinics, and health operations centres are also on standby.
Al Mazroui urged the public to use (999) for emergencies and (901) for general inquiries and to report violations via the Dubai Police ‘Police Eye’ platform. He stressed safe driving and speed compliance to avoid accidents and preserve the joy of Eid. Beachgoers were also advised to supervise children and avoid reckless watercraft use.
He warned against fireworks, noting their dangers and potential for injury or fires, and reminded residents to discourage children from handling them.
To engage workers, Dubai Police, the Positive Spirit Council, and Police Station Directors’ Council will host community sports competitions in areas like Al Quoz and Jebel Ali on Eid’s first two evenings, spreading festive cheer from 5:00 PM to midnight.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to a safe, inclusive, and joyful Eid celebration for all Dubai residents.
