DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced a successful transport operation during the recent Eid Al-Adha holiday, with a total of 7.58 million riders using public, shared, and taxi services across the emirate. This figure reflects a 14% increase compared to the same period last year.

The RTA highlighted that its integrated mobility network catered efficiently to the surge in passenger demand during the celebrations. Dubai Metro remained the top choice, carrying 2.786 million riders on both red and green lines. Meanwhile, the Dubai Tram recorded 119,917 users, reflecting strong connectivity in city zones like Marina and Al Sufouh.

Public buses also saw significant usage, transporting 1.663 million passengers, while marine transport options, including water buses and abras, accounted for 307,684 users. Taxis played a crucial role, serving 2.196 million riders, and shared mobility services such as e-hail and smart rentals added another 504,159 to the total.

The RTA attributed this success to coordinated planning, smart systems, and extended service hours during the holiday. The authority continues to enhance the city’s public transport system, reinforcing Dubai’s goal of a smart and sustainable future.
