Dubai: Under the Ministry of Interior’s umbrella and in line with the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Dubai Police is intensifying its field efforts Monday, August 26th, as part of the ‘A Day Without Accidents’ campaign.
Under the slogan “Greater Commitment… Greater Safety,” the ‘A Day Without Accidents’ campaign aims to ensure the first day of the new school year is free of traffic incidents. Compliant drivers will receive a certified certificate and have four traffic points removed from their driver’s license.
This campaign represents a pioneering effort to assess drivers’ behaviour and foster a greater sense of responsibility and community partnership. By encouraging adherence to traffic laws, the campaign aims to achieve the highest levels of road safety, protecting lives and property, and recording zero traffic incidents on the first day of the academic year.
Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, emphasized that the “A Day Without Accidents” campaign embodies the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to make roads safer. “It also aligns with Dubai Police’s vision for a secure city through awareness campaigns and traffic initiatives aimed at ensuring the highest levels of safety for all road users and urging drivers to follow instructions and safety guidelines diligently,” he added.
Brig. Bin Suwaidan further indicated that the Force aims to increase traffic awareness among the public and encourage them to adhere to traffic instructions on the first day of the school year through the “A Day Without Accidents” campaign.
“By signing the initiative’s pledge, participants commit to not committing any traffic violations or accidents on the first day of school. Those who successfully complete the day without incidents will be given a traffic certificate of compliance and the opportunity to remove four black points from their driving license. They can register and participate in the campaign through the official website of the Ministry of Interior (https://portal.moi.gov.ae/eservices/direct?scode=716&c=1),” Brig. Bin Suwaidan added.

He also indicated that the campaign focuses on four key messages: wearing seatbelts, giving way to pedestrians, avoiding distractions while driving, and not making sudden lane changes. He emphasized that Dubai Police regularly carry out traffic awareness campaigns throughout the year, targeting both motorists and all road users.
Brig. bin Suwaidan called on drivers and road users to strictly adhere to traffic laws and regulations, including complying with speed limits, especially in areas around schools, avoiding distractions like using mobile phones, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, giving priority to pedestrians crossing the road, and yield to emergency vehicles.
